Practice overview
Diamond Health Group consists of Hendford Lodge Medical Centre and Abbey Manor Medical Practice, both of which are well-established practices in Yeovil and draw patients from all sections of the town and surrounding villages. The current list size is over 14,500 patients combined. Hendford Lodge operates as the headquarters for the organisation.
Our team includes three GP partners as well as practice nurses, health care assistants, health coaches, nurse practitioners, paramedics and an in-house pharmacist. They are supported by our practice manager and administrative and reception staff.
We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for long term conditions, children, pregnant women, and for patients needing minor surgery. At Diamond Health Group we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.
Hendford Lodge and Abbey Manor provide our registered patients all core NHS-funded general medical services as well as a number of enhanced medical services and private medical services not funded by the NHS.
Practice history
Hendford Lodge was originally built in 1971 and shared the space with another practice. In 2012/13, the building was renovated and extended to provide a modern, spacious environment for staff and patients.
Training practice
Diamond Health Group is a training practice for GP registrars - these are qualified doctors who are completing their training as a general practitioner. We also provide short placements for medical students from Imperial College and University of Bristol to support their studies as doctors.
This is an important area of our work and we are grateful for your help in this contribution to the future NHS. Any Medical student who comes to Diamond Health Group will always protect patients confidentiality and as a patient you will be informed when teaching is taking place and you can choose not to be involved.
All of out doctors work with GP registrars / students when they are here at Diamond Health Group, if however you would prefer them not to be present during your consultation then please inform the doctor at the start of your consultation.
Car parking and disabled access
Hendford Lodge Medical Centre and Abbey Manor Medical Practice have car parks for patients using the practice for an appointment, which includes parking spaces for blue badge holders. Further car parking is available in nearby public car parks. At Hendford Lodge we run a parking surveillance system, in which you do have to enter your car registration into an iPad in the surgery if you are attending an appointment.
There is easy access into and within both buildings. There is a wheelchair for use in the surgery and separate patient toilet facilities.
