Diamond Health Group provides a range of medical and health services:
Acute care team appointments
Our acute care team provides same day care for minor or exacerbating illness via on-the-day telephone clinics. It consists of nurse practitioners/prescribers and paramedics, who also conduct most of our home visits following GP triage.
General nursing care
the nursing team provide the following care;
- Wound care
- Contraceptive services
- Blood pressure monitoring
- INR monitoring
- Blood tests
- Smear tests
- Vaccinations
Chronic disease management
Chronic disease management clinics are offered throughout the week by our GPs and practice nurses which include:
- Asthma and COPD management advice
- Anticoagulant therapy
- Hypertension management advice
- Coronary heart disease management
- Diabetes
Minor surgery
Minor operations and joint injections can be done in our specialist treatment room. Please discuss this with your GP who will arrange for you to be given an appointment at the practice. This must be done through your GP.
Family planning
Our doctors and nurses provide contraception advice as appropriate. We provide coil and Nexplanon fitting services. Your doctor will be able to discuss this with you in more detail. Please speak to reception to book an appointment for a consultation with a GP.
Maternity care / antenatal
Our community led midwife team manage your care on behalf of your doctor. However, after you have had your baby you will need a postnatal check between six and eight weeks.
Child development and immunisation
All doctors in the practice provide child health facilities and developmental checks. These are usually done during normal surgery appointments. Some checks will be carried out by the health visitors.
It is very important that all children and babies are fully immunised. We have a baby immunisation clinic on Wednesdays. An appointment will be sent to you. If you have any queries regarding the immunisation of your baby, please do not hesitate to ask our practice nurses, your doctor or health visitor.
Smear clinics
If you are female and between the ages of 25 and 64 you will be called automatically by the health authority for screening. Women under 50 years old are called every 3 years and those over 50 every 5 years.
When you are sent a reminder please call the practice to make an appointment with the practice nurse.
Talking therapies
Your GP can refer you to a counsellor if necessary, or you can self-refer.
Blood tests and results
You can book an appointment with our health care assistants who are at the surgery every day. Appointments for blood tests may be booked up to 2 weeks ahead. Call the practice to book.
For results please call the practice in the afternoon - the receptionist will be able to tell you if any action is required based upon the doctors comments, and book an appointment if required.
